By Ada Smith

The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City is the most popular shopping destination in Arlington. It is located close to the Pentagon City Metro stop, on the lower levels of the Washington Tower building, near I-395, 5 miles away from downtown Washington, DC.

The mall was built in 1988 and at present it is the largest enclosed mall in Arlington. It is owned by Simon Property Group and it boasts over 170 shops and services, as well as 7 full-service restaurants. There are 14 order-at-the-counter eateries, most of them situated in the food court. Here you can find famous brand names like Williams-Sonoma, Aeropostale, L'Occitane J. Jill, and Ann Taylor. The mall is generally considered to be very upscale, providing top-quality merchandise. Its anchors are Macy's and Nordstrom. The mall is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays and on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday

This mall has 821,024 square feet of retail space, on 4 exquisitely designed levels. The skylight in the food court and the glass elevators give a first-class atmosphere. Parking options consist of a garage which sometimes may prove to be crowded. Fees vary from $1.5 to $16, depending on the time of the day and the number of hours you park the car there.

There is no cinema at this mall, but it is near a lot of attractions such as Lincoln Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Moreover, in winter there is an outdoor skating rink.
